I was tasked to create a badge for a t-shirt in celebration of the 30th anniversary of MI® Windows and Doors manufacturing facility team members in Gratz. Ground broke for the construction of the plant, which lies adjacent to the town's neighboring airfield, in 1995. The plant operations manager reached out looking for a simple t-shirt badge that featured a bi-plane trailing a banner with the words "Gratz Thirty Years."

I knew the design had to pay homage to the humble, hardworking, blue collar community – one that prides themselves in the quality, precision and craftsmanship of manufacturing windows. I wanted to capture the 90's aesthetic feel, bringing in design elements like script font and iconography. I was able to piece together a memorable challenge coin given to team members who have been with the company since the plant's inception– a small token to commemorate their contributions to the community.
